Almost a year ago, we all watched the news as Japan’s disaster took place. The 9.0 magnitude earthquake, followed by a tsunami, left the country in destruction, not to mention in the world’s worst nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
Looking at the news today, it was clear that people’s hearts and minds are still in March 11th 2011. Photos of people praying and reminiscing on what once was, gives us the chance to think about all that we have, which others now do not.
Although its been a year, many people are still feeling the impact of this disaster. Some people are still displaced and many people have lost loved ones. People in Japan are now taking a stand as antinuclear protests are starting to take shape. This is the act of people actively taking a stand so that history does not repeat itself, a history that we all hope will never happen again.

We are all still praying for Japan.
End of an era! </3
Kodak, the hundred-year old photo company has filed for bankruptcy after years of falling sales related to the decline of its namesake film business as digital cameras have taken over the market.
We want to see your photographic memories which you made using Kodak point-and-shoot cameras, digital cameras and film. These pictures may be used on guardian.co.uk in a gallery.
Leave a photo reply on this post to show us: what are your favourite Kodak moments?
Such weird weather patterns in Doha right now, first ‘the fog that ate Doha’ earlier this month and now the drop in temperature. Just as I was starting to think that Qatar’s winter was coming to an end and that I could put all those scarfs and coats away. Go figure. I literally left my house this morning, walked ten steps out the front door before I decided it was time to put on 20 more layers. Feel like such an Arab for saying this but 8 degrees is TOO cold for me, need a dose of some Doha heat!
